Tips for Teachers
- In order to retain your student's
interest you should know his or her present stage of development.
- According to Jerome
Bruner, the child is always ready to learn. The teacher is the
one who is not ready to meet the needs of the cognitive level of the
child. (Schmitt, 1971)
- Always
remember that a child is not a small-sized adult.
- The major
source of all learning is ACTIVITY.
- The child should be
able to experience self-teaching and not always being teached at.
- Implement
developmental psychology into the framework of your teaching.
- Many musicians are
consumed with "speaking the language of music" because of the
specializing approach to becoming a musician. Be flexible and
ready to help the student develop.
